How to start?

Clearing class 2 medical and class 1 medical examinations is where you need to start, of which class 2 is required for your flying training and class 1 for your CPL (Commercial Pilot License) issuance. After this, you need a computer number to be issued from DGCA, which is a unique reference number for anything related to your aviation career like giving CPL exams etc.

Requirements:

• You require a basic qualification of 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects

• Minimum age – 18 yrs for acquiring a CPL

Note – Candidates who did not have PCM in their 12th std. can also apply , though they have to clear their 12^th through open board.

Below subjects are covered in ground classes:

• Air Navigation

• Air Regulation

• Meteorology

• Technical General

• Performance

• Radio Telephony*

Notes:-

1: The duration of ground classes for Pilot training is 3 months.
2: *Radio Telephony is conducted by WPC (Wireless Planning Coordination Wing) after every 2 months. All other subjects are conducted by DGCA, conducted every quarter.
3: Exams are conducted every quarter by DGCA. (Across India)
